Newton, WI, January 31, 2012 – Omega Fields® is happy to announce that it has been named a finalist in the "Best Use of Social Media by a Feed Company" category of the 2012 PagePlay Equestrian Social Media Awards (ESMAs). The final stage of voting in all categories ends at 6:00 a.m. CDT, February 10, 2012, with the winners being announced via an online ceremony on the ESMA YouTube Channel in early March.
 
According to ESMA's Facebook page, the purpose of the contest is to determine "who enriches the online world for thousands of equestrians globally using social media."
 
Nominations for the 2012 ESMAs took place on Facebook during the nine days preceding Christmas, when 2,629 people submitted 8,137 nominations for ten finalists in each of 30 categories. Selections were made on the basis of unique supporting statements from the nominating voters, plus online social engagement criteria and the display of good online etiquette.
 
"It was a tough job with the standard of nominees being truly exceptional," according to ESMA's Facebook page.
 
The final results will be based 70% on scores from the Expert Panel and 30% on votes from the public. The panel is a hand-picked group of the best equestrian marketers, digital professionals, social media gurus and branding experts from across the globe.
