Newton, WI, May 15, 2012 – Don Schrider, Omega Fields® poultry spokesperson, was a featured lecturer and exhibitor at the recent Fancy Feathers Show in Dayton, OH, April 28-29.

Schrider spoke to adults and 4-H members about the selection, care and feeding of poultry to obtain the body mass, feather gloss and sheen necessary for winning at poultry shows. Schrider awarded bags of Omega Ultra Egg™ from Omega Fields® to Brandi Powell, the winner of Champion Junior Large Fowl on an Australorp cockerel; Seth Tumlin, Champion Junior Bantam winner; and five lucky winners of a drawing held at the Omega Fields booth.

One of the winners of the Omega Ultra Egg drawing was Mark Atwood of North Carolina, who amazed all by taking both Super Grand Champion of Show with a Bantam Single Comb Light Brown Leghorn pullet and Reserve Super Grand Champion of Show with a Large Fowl Single Comb Light Brown Leghorn pullet.

Other winners of the drawing were Bud Blankenship, Evan Edingfield, Jerry Powell, and Kathy Gratsch.

When not speaking about his favorite topic – chickens - Schrider was at his booth teaching the benefits of supplementing poultry diets with Omega-3 from Omega Fields' Omega Ultra Egg. The perfect ratio of Omega-3, -6, and -9 essential fatty acids found in Omega Ultra Egg promote brilliant plumage, better health and Omega-3-rich eggs with strong shells. Omega Ultra Egg is the superior supplement with the best, whole-ground flaxseed high in Omega-3, folic acid, vitamin E, and vitamin B-12. It is milled using only whole, intact flaxseeds for optimum nutritional value and freshness, using proprietary stabilization technology to maintain full nutritional value, guaranteed for 18 months.

"For many folks, this was the first opportunity to discover Omega Ultra Egg," said Schrider. "[They] realized quickly the benefits Omega Ultra Egg could give to the sheen on the plumage of their birds. It was surprising, though, how many folks that show birds were interested in the health benefits of the eggs from Omega Ultra Egg."

Over 1200 birds were exhibited at the show, which drew 39 junior exhibitors, 128 exhibitors overall and attendees from many Eastern, Southern and Central  states. The show was the site of an American Poultry Association Meet and the National Meet for the American Brown Leghorn Club. There were four judges, including one from Canada.

Both large and bantam chickens were exhibited in a wide array of breeds and colors. There were also turkeys, geese, ducks and guinea keets.

February 28, 2012 9:23:17 AM CST

Newton, WI, February 28, 2012 -- Roy Pirrung, Ultra Marathon runner and longtime supporter of Omega Fields' flaxseed supplements, recently won his 69th national title, placing first in the 60-64 age group, in the Tussey mOUTaiNBACK, 50-mile, USA Track & Field Championship race.

The race was held Oct. 23, 2011 on Tussey Mountain, near State College, Pennsylvania. The course, through central Pennsylvania's scenic Rothrock State Forest during peak foliage season, was very hilly and ended with four miles of "quad busting" downhill to the finish line. In between, from mile 12 to mile 27, the course went uphill continuously.

"I have been using flax-based products for four decades and have been using Mega Omega since its inception," said Pirrung. "As a world class athlete, I am always looking for an edge on the competition and feel the use of Mega Omega provides me with that. The anti-inflammatory properties found in Mega Omega are a must for any athlete — and everyone, actually."

The Omega-3’s, antioxidants, and lignans in Mega Omega promote healthy cellular systems to better recovery after exercise and guard against illness. Learn more about the extraordinary benefits of Omega Fields flaxseed supplements at www.FLAX.com.

Four months before the Tussey race, Pirrung ran three ultra marathons in Italy and used Mega Omega twice daily. The races were 125, 62 and 448 miles, spanning a period of running just over eight days. By maintaining sound muscles he was able to complete all three, win his age group in all, and, at 63, placed second overall in the 448-mile race from Turin to Rome, Italy.

Pirrung has been running since 1981 at age 32 and has more than 900 career races including 118 marathons and 168 ultra marathons. His achievements include World Open and Masters Ultra Champion, USA Open and Masters Ultra Champion, World and American Record Holder, and Member of USATF Masters Hall of Fame.

Stated Pirrung, "Each day is an important training day for an athlete, and each day I include Mega Omega in my training regimen."
